Recently we have added a quite useful functionality to jCardSim that allow you to work with jCardSim through virtual PC/SC-reader on Windows 7. It also should work on Windows XP but do not tested.

Installing BixVReader UMDF driver

The Virtual Smart Card Architecture provides software to emulate smart cards and a smart card reader. The virtual smart card is internally accessible as PC/SC reader and externally as USB CCID reader or through a contactless smart card. This driver, with the relevant DisplayLink-powered hardware, will allow any Intel-based Mac - even a Mac Mini or MacBook Air - to connect up to 4 monitors over USB. This driver also supports the USB video of our customers' USB docking station products. For detailed information about the driver, check 'Download File' at the bottom of this page. Under normal conditions, the driver installation is completed in several minutes. It may take about 10 minutes depending on the Internet connectivity or if there are other drivers being installed for other devices. ActivCard Virtual PC/SC last downloaded: 8.2.2021 - 2021 version.   • In order to install BixVReader you need DevCon from WDK. Unfortunately, it can not be distributed separately, but WDK 8 is available for free download here: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkID=324284. Download it and install.
  • Depending on your OS architecture copy devcon.exe either from C:Program FilesWindows Kits8.0Toolsx86 or C:Program FilesWindows Kits8.0Toolsx64 to the directory that contains extracted BixVReader’s distribution: Win7_x86 or Win7_x64 respectively.
  • Also WUDFUpdate_* files from C:Program FilesWindows Kits8.0Redistwdfx86 or C:Program FilesWindows Kits8.0Redistwdfx64 should be copied to the directory that contains extracted BixVReader’s distribution: Win7_x86 or Win7_x64 respectively.
  • Open command line with Administrator privileges and change directory to one that contains extracted BixVReader.
  • Execute the command devcon install BixVReader.inf rootBixVirtualReader and confirm installation of unsigned drivers (we believe we can get in touch with the BixVReader's creator Fabio Ottavi and, if he will like it, gift him a certificate to sign the driver).

Configuring jCardSim

Download the new build of desired jCardSim's version: 2.2.1 or 2.2.2.

jCardSim uses named pipes (IPC) to communicate with BixVReader: data communication is through the .pipeSCardSimulatorDriver<CardReaderID> and the .pipeSCardSimulatorDriverEvents<CardReaderID> is used for card state messages.

Step 1 - Driver Update

Many technical problems involving our Sentinel keys can be resolved simply by installing the latest system drivers. Please download and install the latest driver below.
Sentinel Protection Installer v7.6.6 - ( Download Driver) For Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP/Server 2003/2008/Vista & Windows 7 & 8 (32 and 64 bits)

Stinger driver download for windows 10. This is the latest version of the Sentinel Driver. This replaces both the Sentinel System Driver and the 'Sentinel Combo Installer'. This will install both the Driver and the Sentinel SuperPro/Ultrapro Server onto your system.

This will work for the following keys: Sentinel UltraPro, Sentinel SuperPro, Sentinel SHK and SentinelPro

Sentinel Protection Installer v7.1.0 - (Download driver)
For Linux RedHat 9 (2.4.20)/RedHat Enterprise 3.0 (2.4.21)/Linux kernel 2.6.5

This installer will Install Sentinel UNIX Driver 7.1 and/or Sentinel Protection Server 7.1 on your system. Previous installed copies of these components will be upgraded. This will work for Sentinel UltraPro and Sentinel SuperPro keys.

Sentinel UNIX Driver 7.1 provides also generic support for kernel version 2.6.5 of RedHat Linux distributions.

Kernel version 2.6.5 is the latest kernel that supports .o binary installations. Hence only version 2.6.5 is supported for customized 2.6.x kernels. However, the Sentinel UNIX Driver has also been tested on kernel versions 2.6.3.

The Sentinel UNIX Driver (parallel) binary-mdrbdr.o-is modified to support installation on kernel version 2.6.5. It is installed at: /opt/sentinel/sud/parallel/Fedora/kernel-2.6.5.Please note that the RPM version must be 4.2.1 (or higher).
For Fedora, the .ko binary will be installed. For the remaining distributions, the .o binary will be installed.
